In honour of the International Day of the Midwife on May 5th, we are thrilled to present our comprehensive toolkit that to support and celebrate midwives around the world. This year’s theme “Together Again: From Evidence to Reality”, and we have compiled a variety of resources to help you spread awareness and appreciation for the vital role midwives play in maternal and new-born health.
The #IDM2023 toolkit includes informative graphics, blog post templates, and tips for planning events and community outreach programs. Whether you’re a midwife yourself or simply passionate about supporting their work, we invite you to utilise our toolkit to help promote the cause of midwifery.

ICM Welcomes new Member Association in Türkiye
We are excited to announce that the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) has welcomed a new member association from Türkiye, the Association for Education, Research and Development in Midwifery (AERDM).
Founded in 2014, AERDM is a professional association with a mission to increase the power of midwifery through education, scientific research, and practice while adopting universal values. Despite positive developments in midwifery, the association continues to face challenges and strives to combat them. Their main goal is to become a leading national and internationally recognised association in the fields of midwifery profession, education, and research.
AERDM’s decision to join the International Confederation of Midwives stems from its commitment to contribute to the internationalisation of the association and members, as well as to promote the expansion of sexual and reproductive health services at the national level.
