The Cowasjee School of Midwifery, Lady Dufferin Hospital has celebrated the International Day of Midwife (IDM) on 5th May, 2016. Program aimed to celebrate IDM with cake cutting ceremony at Cowasjee School of Midwifery, and then conducted awareness activity by visiting five Karachi based secondary schools.
The midwifery students and teachers of Cowasjee school of midwifery had visited Nasara, Seven Day, Malala Girls, and SMB Fatima Jinnah secondary Schools. In addition, a group of midwives also attended a CME session at Tabba heart Institute on ‘Infection Prevention Steps’ Whereas advocacy talk on midwifery profession was conducted by the midwifery teachers.
Overall the International Midwifery day was remarkable with reciprocal learning through unique experiences for midwifery students of Cowasjee School of Midwifery.
The students and teachers of Cowasjee School of Midwifery are involved in planning and execution of health sessions to school students.
