ICM Board Member for Eastern Mediterranean Region (2023-2025 Triennium)

My vision for the region includes:

As fraternity of midwives, we grow stronger together, and ICM continues to be the voice of midwives and midwifery associations. With our key stakeholders and partners, we ensure the quality and standardization of the midwifery model of care. A mother delivering in countries like Somalia and Pakistan must receive the
same standard of care as those in developed countries like Sweden and Australia.

We strengthen our partnership with the women, and they demand the midwifery model of care. We become the voice of women in most underserved and disadvantaged areas, including humanitarian crises, and conflicts

Lastly, with this rapidly changing world, we strengthen midwives’ capacity to support current public health challenges, including pandemics and climate change.

I can foresee my contributions to the Board would be:

I can support countries in the Eastern Mediterranean Region with the quality implementation of global education and regulation standards and strengthen professional associations in 14 countries.

I will support midwives, in integrating more prominent public health and contextual issues in their in-service and pre-service education, including climate change and humanitarian crises.

I will be a bridge between ICM, midwifery associations and other sectors, and I strongly believe in the catalytic effects of coordination, collaboration, sharing, and learning. We need each society as a whole approach to support our mothers and newborns, and I will be at your side when you make those links and connections.

Happily sharing with you Clips of President of MAP. Ms. Arusa Mansoor shared her experience as ” My life ” , and Shared her views as Panelist in 8th Midwifery Conference on 4th Feb.2023 in Karachi
