The Midwifery Association of Pakistan (MAP), in collaboration with the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM), recently held a two-day meeting aimed at strengthening MAP and addressing key areas for development. The meeting focused on the findings of the MAAC report, identifying gaps, and formulating actionable recommendations to enhance MAP’s impact on midwifery and maternal healthcare in Pakistan.
On the first day, ICM presented the MAAC report findings to MAP executives, highlighting crucial insights and proposed strategies for improvement. This was followed by an interactive discussion session, allowing MAP executives to clarify key points, assess the identified gaps, and determine their stance on the suggested recommendations.
The second day was dedicated to internal MAP discussions, including a comprehensive SWOT analysis training. This session enabled MAP leaders to critically assess their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, helping them strategize effectively. Additionally, an action plan was developed with clearly defined timelines and activities, ensuring a structured approach to addressing the MAAC recommendations and fortifying MAP’s role in midwifery advocacy and professional growth.
